3 Days Rwanda Wildlife Overview
3 Days Rwanda Wildlife explores Akagera National Park, which is a habitat for over 500 species of birds. Dominates scenically by the labyrinth of swamps and lakes that follow the meandering course of the Akagera River, the most remote source of the Nile, this African Savannah landscape of tangled acacia woodland interspersed with open grassland.
This is where herds of elephants and buffalo emerge from the woodland to drink at the lakes, while lucky visitors might stumble across a leopard, a spotted hyena, or even a stray lion. You will also see lots of hippos, zebras, impalas, warthogs, buffalo, and Masai giraffes, among others. Akagera National Park has a rich biodiversity in flora and fauna; it’s one of the oldest national parks in Africa and Rwanda, and the savannah composition of the park allows wildlife to dominate the park.

Day 1: Arrival and drive to Akagera National Park
The drive takes +/- 3 hours from the city centre. The park is a very thrilling experience as you pass past Rwanda’s phenomenal landscapes and have a chance to see the lifestyle of Rwandan natives. On arrival at Kinigi Park, you will rest for a short while and thereafter proceed for 3 days. Rwanda Wildlife will lead you to the southern lake circuit game drive along Lake Ihema.
