6 Days Rwanda Honeymoon Tours

Day 1: Arrival – Kigali International Airport

(Approx. 30 minutes drive)

Upon arrival at the airport, our guide/driver will be waiting to welcome you and provide a short briefing before transferring you to your booked hotel in Kigali. You will check, and relax as you prepare for your adventure the following day.

Day 2: Transfer – Volcanoes National Park

(Approx. 2 hours’ drive)

After breakfast, we will check out and drive to Kigali Genocide Memorial Center which honors the memory of more than one million Rwandans killed in 1994. You will be able to watch and listen to some video clips from some of the survivors of the incident. Lunch in Kigali and later proceed to Volcanoes National Park through the magnificent route to Musanze which will take us approximately 2 hours of good road drive, with a great stopover. The road is smooth and well-maintained, something that Rwanda is well known for. Upon arrival at your lodge, check-in, relax and have dinner.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking & Ibyi’wacu Cultural Village – Volcanoes National Park

After an early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to the park headquarters for a briefing about the code of conduct while with the gorillas. You will then enter the jungle in search of the gorillas. This experience takes between 2hrs to 6hrs or more depending on the movement of the gorillas in the forest and your group speed as well. Upon an encounter with the gorillas, you will be allowed 1hr with them. After this fantastic experience, you will walk back to the starting point for the drive back to the lodge for lunch and later, you will have a cultural encounter with the gorilla guardians at Ibyi’wacu village.

Day 4: Golden Monkey Trekking & Transfer – Lake Kivu

After breakfast, you will head out on a trekking experience to find the golden monkeys in Volcanoes National Park. You will meet your guide at the park headquarters before heading into the forest. The walk meanders through local villages and tea plantations, and the scenery is beautiful. Once you find the monkeys, you will have an hour observing them running around, eating, and swinging from the trees. Just like the gorilla trekking experience, the same trekking procedures and guidelines apply to the golden monkey trekking though not so hectic as gorilla trekking. You will head back to your lodge for lunch before transferring to Lake Kivu.

After having your early breakfast, you will be transferred for the coffee tour, where you will learn more about the crop-to-cup coffee experience. Later, you will proceed for the boat cruise on Lake Kivu for lake exploration and later return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation.

Today your adventure will come to an end. After having your tasty breakfast, and depending on your flight time, you will be transferred to Kigali for a short visit to Kimironko local market and art gallery then lunch and later proceed to the airport for your outbound flight.
