Ishasha Wilderness Camp is a hidden gem in the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park and boasts of a unique setting as well as being the nearby camp in the park where tourists can see the tree-climbing lions in Uganda. It is situated on the Ntungwe River and is specially located for most tourists who like to enjoy life in the wild. This place has a tented camp with exceptional service in the remote and unspoilt region of the national park.
The area is famously known for its tree-climbing lions because of the availability of savannah grasslands. Elephants can also be seen on the Ntungwe River, as well as buffalo grazing, black and white colobus monkeys, and vervet monkeys, while at the camp. The camp is blended in a perfect wild, natural setting, with ten spacious tents that create a true home in the wilderness.
A private veranda is also available, as you can enjoy a cold drink while overlooking the Ntungwe River as well as spotting different primates. Hot bush showers and flushing toilets ensure the visitor’s comfort in the wilderness.
A thatched lounge provides the opportunities for an ideal place for guests’ relaxation, with meals served in cosy dining. A fireplace also enables guests to share their stories, especially after a day’s game drive with an ice-cold beverage. While at Ishasha wilderness camp, participate in activities like game drives in the remote and unspoilt sectors of the park, go for a community tour and interact with the locals in the surrounding villages, and visit schools as well as the traditional medicine men of the area.
