
Mihingo Lodge
Mihingo lodge is a luxurious lodge located in Lake Mburo national park, situated on a rocky kopje where it is believed that the pre-Cambrian granite boulders were formed over 500 million years. It is a very environmentally friendly lodge offering comfort, relaxation and the experience of one being comfortable with nature.
The lodge has an expansive swimming pool, overlooking the drinking area for most animals which come out of the bush on sunny afternoons and evenings. During your stay at the lodge, you can participate in a number of activities which include nature walks, walking safaris and also get to learn about the cultural history of the people of Ankole.
Activities while at the Lodge
Horse riding activities are also conducted by Mihingo lodge with the help of knowledgeable, well-trained and experienced guides who even go an extra mile to make your stay worthwhile. Get a chance to see a family of resident klipspringers while on the rocks. Zebras, warthogs, buffalo, impala and bushbuck can also be seen.
Mihingo lodge is the only lodge in Uganda that offers daytime and overnight horseback

safaris in the national park. The buildings are made out of stone, timber and thatch in a classic safari way. The beauty of the rocky kopje adds beauty to the area. The lounge, bar, and well-cushioned cement couch help you to sit and relax as you meet, greet and get to interact with fellow travellers. Enjoy a special meal in Mihingo thatched dining area as you gaze at the beauty of the surroundings.
Mihingo accommodation consists of 12 tented rooms located at the site.
Accessibility
Mihingo lodge can be accessed from Kampala via road, approximately a 5 hours drive and is 22 kilometres from the main road and can be easily spotted due to its strategic location on the hill.
