The Mubaku Community Boat is a locally run initiative near Murchison Falls National Park, offering eco-tourism experiences like safari boat cruises, sport fishing trips, and cultural interactions. It is associated with the Mubaku Community, which supports conservation and community development in the area. We are located on the southern bank of the Nile River in Mubako Village, between Nile Safari Lodge and Twiga Safari Lodge. We are located outside the park, 4 km from headquarters as you head to Mubako Gate. Or you can reach out through our Kampala office at Pamoja Safaris. Here’s how you can book and enjoy a fishing trip with the Mubaku Community Boat:
Contact the Mubaku Community Boat Operators
We are available on our website, social media pages, or listed contact numbers. These platforms often provide up-to-date information about our services and booking options.
Alternatively, you can enquire at lodges near Murchison Falls National Park, as we often collaborate with local operators.
Choose a Fishing Experience
Discuss the type of trip you prefer: sport fishing near the falls, a combined fishing and wildlife safari, or a community-focused excursion.
Confirm the duration and special arrangements, such as gear rental or meals on board.
Permit and Park Entry
Obtain a sport fishing permit through Mubaku or directly from the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA).
Ensure your park entry fees are covered for the day(s) of your visit.
What to Expect on the Trip
Fishing Highlights: Catch species like the Nile Perch and Catfish along the riverbank or near the falls.
Wildlife Sightings: Enjoy views of hippos, crocodiles, and birds like the African fish eagle.
Cultural Experiences: Some packages include stops at Mubaku village to learn about the local culture and crafts.
Book in Advance
Given the limited number of boats and the popularity of Mubaku’s community tours, early booking is advised, especially during peak seasons (June–August and December).
When you book with us, you are directly engaging with the local community and providing conservation, education, health, access to clean water, and sustainable development to the people surrounding Murchison Falls National Park.
