Travelling to Uganda is the most scenic and very comprehensive travel destination for primates and wildlife safari. While in Queen Elizabeth National Park you have game drives, a boat trip on the Kazinga Channel, and the tree-climbing lions in Ishasha Sector. We then drive you to Bwindi for mountain gorilla trekking and onward to Lake Mburo National Park for more of the wildlife game drives looking for giraffes and zebra. If you like watching birds, this is the best destination in Uganda for bird watchers. You have a diversity of natural habitats to enjoy birding in Kibale, Queen Elizabeth Park, and Bwindi impenetrable forest national park with few of the Albertine endemic species like green breasted pitta, Crimson Johnson etc.

Itineraries

Day 1

Arrival and transfer to Kibale National Park.

Your safari guide will be linking up with you at your hotel in Kampala or at Entebbe airport at 08:00 AM (or airport but arriving before 11 am). Most of the morning today is spent driving to our first destination.

The countryside is fabulously beautiful with expansive carpets of plantations of banana, coffee, and tea lying along. The lush rolling hills of this region provide good photo opportunities.

Day 2

Chimpanzee Tracking & Bigodi Swamp walk

Morning breakfast later drives to the Kanyanchu briefing point before you start your chimpanzee tracking, this should be a relatively easy jungle walk with some gentle hills/ slopes and the activity relatively take 2-3 hours.

In the afternoon we visit the bigodi swamp which is excellent for primates watching and other forest animals. At the Eastern edge of the Kibale forest is the Bigodi Wetland sanctuary which is maintained by the local community. Day 3

Time : 3:00 am

Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Morning Breakfast, later we drive toward Queen Elizabeth national park, visit and explore the scenic crater lakes region, checking out the superbly Rwenzori Mountains, which were perpetually shrouded in the clouds, except early in the morning. There’s just so much to enjoy in this region. the scene is marvellous to partake in. In fact, the locals here call it the "Mountains of the Moon"

Day 4

Game Drives, Afternoon Boat Trip

Early morning for a game drive in the northern part of the park on the Kasenyi areas in search of lions, elephants, and buffaloes. This is the best time for opportunities of viewing the cats in action owing to the vast population of Uganda kobs.

In the afternoon we will go for a launch trip along the Kazinga Channel. This gives you the opportunity to view wildlife up close: hippos huff and sprays at a mere foot away from the boat, buffalo linger in the shallows.

Day 5

Maramagambo Walk & tree climbing Lion in Ishasha

Wake up for breakfast later we depart before the lodge. Our first stop shall be the Maramagambo nature walk one of East Africa's largest and oldest forests. We have booked a guided walk along the most enriching tracks in the forest so that inform yourself more about its primates and other forest inhabitants. There are also several rare butterflies and bird species inhabiting the forest.

In the afternoon we will proceed to the Ishasha Sector. Drive along the deep and wide dry craters that are occupied by savanna grasses and acacia. The drive takes you through the unique western rift valley escarpment and the (southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park) Ishasha sector where you will take on yet another game drive in search of tree climbing lions.

Day 6

Morning Game drive later drive to Bwindi

Early Morning wake-up call, then we proceed for morning game drive before having breakfast, later return for late breakfast or we can arrange for bush breakfast on request. Return to the lodge and we check out with the second game in search of the tree-climbing lion before continuing off to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

The journey will depend on the sector where your gorilla's permit was purchased.

Day 7

Gorilla Trekking Pygmy Visit

The gorilla trek starts at 8.00 am daily from the park headquarters and your driver-guide will help you in doing all the registration process. You shall be allocated to a group of not more than 8 persons in total with whom you visit one gorilla family. When sighted, visitors will be guided to within 8 meters of the gorillas, and sit around them for a whole hour while observing their big round eyes. Return back from the gorillas trekking then you can opt for the Pygmy Batwa tour if time allows.

Day 8

Drive to Lake Mburo National Park

Morning late breakfast, later checkout and drive to the renowned and famous herds of antelope and it's one of the only two Ugandan parks home to Burchell’s zebra. The park is also especially good for acacia-associated birds.

On arrival, you can choose to rest for the rest of the day at your accommodation or participate in a game drive during the evening.

Day 9

Game Drive & Horseback riding

We have a game drive covering most of the tracks in the park. Your guide will liaise with the park guides about which tracks have more wildlife sightings on the day you are visiting.
If you have the time, other optional tourist activities for you to engage in include ranger-escorted cycling and horseback riding as you search for the wildlife here.
Walking Safaris, give you a great experience to encounter wildlife on foot.

Day 10

Depart to Entebbe

Early Breakfast as we check out of the lodge and we drive through a magnificent hilly country and lush cultivation on an approximately 5-hours trip. En route, we will stop at the Equator for photographs. After, we will drive you to Entebbe for dinner before your departure.
