During a game drive, you can expect to spot a wide range of animals, including elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos, giraffes, zebras, hyenas, cheetahs, various antelope species, and over 475 recorded bird species. The park’s remote location and relatively low tourist numbers make it a unique and exclusive safari experience.

Game drives are typically conducted in the early morning or late afternoon, as wildlife is most active during these times. Morning game drives offer a chance to witness predators on the hunt, while evening drives allow you to experience stunning sunsets and nocturnal animals emerging.

Game drives in Kidepo Park are usually conducted in 4×4 safari vehicles. These vehicles are specially designed for off-road driving and provide comfort and excellent visibility for wildlife viewing. Accessibility. Due to its remote location, reaching Kidepo Valley National Park may require a bit more planning and effort. The park can be accessed either by road or air. The most common route is by road from Kampala-Gulu-Kitgum-Kidepo which takes approximately 9-10 hours. Alternatively, there are scheduled flights that operate three times a week from Entebbe to Kidepo airstrip in the heart of the national park.
